Jadeism

“Jadeism” – my belief of creating contemporary and unconventional fine jewelry with my favourite material, jadeite, for people who, like myself, appreciate the beauty of this unique gem but are tired of the outdated look of jadeite jewelry out there in the market. Jadeite is not just the long-appreciated Buddha or Guanyin statues for the elderly, it can also be funky and a day-to-day piece for young professionals, independent women in this 21st century. Jadeite is also believed to protect you from the negative energy around you. Why not having it in a cool, fashionable piece of jewelry that you could wear every day?

In my collection “Jadeism”, I combined jadeite with black diamonds set in 18K gold. Black diamond is mysterious like jadeite to most people and the combination of both complements each other. The black diamonds are mounted upside down so that they are like little studs facing outside, facing the world, fearlessly. They also add an extra funky edge to my collection. Mounting stones upside down is not a new technique, however, the combination of jadeite and stud-looking black diamonds is definitely not a common mix that can be easily found in the market. I believe that my collection will bring a new wave of love for jadeite to the younger generation, set a new trend for jadeite jewelry, which are otherwise perceived appealing only to the older generation. “Jadeism” is the new attitude and art of embracing this traditional “royal gem” and giving it a refreshing, stylish look for the new jadeite jewelry era.
