ART LOVER TO ARTIST
In 2012, after successfully opening and managing two international contemporary art galleries, Cleo took the bold step to follow her passion and become an artist herself. Through her years in the art world, she developed her unique personal aesthetics, giving her pieces an elevated chic and modern elegance. Inspired by fragments of life and infused with a sense of humor, the pieces embody the designer’s witty response to the world we live in. Every piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, adaptable from casual days to elegant evenings, chic to edgy, made with love to complement the beauty and strength of independent women in the 21st century.
A Passion that runs from the Gem Stone Mine to Design. The daughter of a fine jeweler, Cleo understands the interconnectedness of precious stones and design in jewelry. Cleo furthered her studies in gemology and jewelry design in New York and is a certified gemologist by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA, New York). Following her love for jade, Cleo also trained with “The Jade Lady”, Professor Mimi Ou Yang, who pioneered the current globally recognized classification system of Fei Cui Jadeite treatment. When not designing, Cleo is often visiting the mines to research and source many of the natural precious stones she uses in her pieces.
From the mines to stone selection to design, Cleo, as an artist and gemologist personally invests herself in literally every step of the creative process. Each piece of jewelry is a pure artistic expression of Cleo’s emotion and soul. Cleo Lam lives to innovate the contemporary and redefine timeless.
